"It’s a music the urban Recife ignored, from the frontier city on the way to the dry interior, the city of Arcoverde. The rhythm does not sound like anything we are used to listen. Those boys bring along a sofisticated language, a rhythmic mixture from the interior that is popular by nature. Their sound his rooted in the variety of northeastern culture, singers and street poets. But what Cordel does is not folklore. Its artistic concept is linked to the historic reality of the country.

"é a música do Recife urbano ignorado, da fronteira da cidade no caminho para o interior seco, a cidade de Arcoverde. O ritmo não soa como qualquer coisa que estamos acostumados a escutar. Aqueles garotos trazem junto de uma linguagem sofisticada, uma mistura rítmica do interior que é popular por natureza. Seu som se enraizou na variedade da cultura do nordeste, cantores e poetas da rua. Mas o que Cordel faz não é folclore. Seu conceito artístico é ligado à realidade historica do país.
